Lithium battery diaphragm test instructions:
The mixed puncture strength test is the force on the diaphragm when the electrode mixture punctures the diaphragm and causes a short circuit. The method can be referred to NASATM2010-216099 BatterySeparatorCharacterizationandEvaluationProceduresforNASA’SAdvancedLithium-ionBateries or GB/T21302—2016 General Rules for Composite Films and Bags for Packaging. The mixed puncture strength is generally used to evaluate the probability of battery short circuit. Because the diaphragm of lithium ion battery contacts with the rough surface of positive and negative electrodes, the electrode surface may puncture the diaphragm during the assembly and use of the battery, so the mixed puncture strength is a dynamic indicator parameter relative to the puncture strength.
Test method for puncture resistance of lithium battery diaphragm: install the test piece with diameter of 100 mm on the sample film fixed clamp ring, and then use a steel needle with diameter of 1.0 mm and radius of 0.5 mm at the top of the diameter to puncture at the speed of (50 ± 5) mm/min, and read the load of the steel needle penetrating the test piece. If the number of test pieces is more than 5, take the arithmetic mean.
